Eligibility:

Either currently enrolled in an educational institution and/ Or between the age of 16-25.

What type of work?

Prose:

Please submit no more than 15 pages of fiction, critical work, personal essay, or an excerpt from a larger piece of work.

Poetry:

Poetry in any structure and language is welcome.

Visual Art: 

Visual art in any form — including, but not limited to painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, drawing, comics, installation, video, and film. Up to five images/ three videos or films (no more than one hour).

Performing Arts:

Please submit in the form of audio or video of music, dance, or drama (no more than fifteen minutes), and scripts between twenty to thirty pages.

FAQs

  • No, we accept work in ANY and ALL languages! You can submit work written entirely in a non-English language and/ or work that makes use of multiple languages as well

  • No, You can be assured your work will be reviewed by someone who has working knowledge of the language(s) you have chosen to use. If we are unable to find able and willing peer reviewers, we will open communicate this with you and work something out together

    • There are also opportunities to translate your work by other means. You can send us an audio reading of your poem, for example.

      *If your submission is a translation, you will have the option for us to display the piece in its original language as well.

  • You can incorporate as many languages as you would like in both your statement and bio. However, we ask for an English version as well. We can also work with you to translate your statement and bio.

  • Yes! As long as your work grapples with themes of belonging, identity, and/or culture, you are welcome to submit something. You can also reach out to us if you are unsure.

    You do have to be enrolled in a college and/or be 16-25 years of age

  • Yes, we accept work from those aged 16-25 years old worldwide

  • We accept pretty much anything that can be upload on a website! This includes text, photos, videos, audios, combinations of different mediums.

  • You can submit multiple pieces of work, either within the same medium or utilizing multiple forms. For multiple submissions that are unrelated from one another, we may decide to publish one piece but not the other.

  • Artists will be notified via email of acceptances beginning MAY 11, 2024.

  • Your work will be published on our website on May 18, 2024 in tandem with the launch event that will take place on the same day at Bennington College.

    You will be invited to read and/or share your work at the launch event, taking place May 18, 2024. There will be virtual options available for both featured artists and guests.
