While the translation diary builds up the translation and presents the full poem at the end, it might also make sense to include it at the start for readers more interested in just the outcome. Due to the detailed account of the translation process, I believe an artistic statement is not necessary for this piece.

My mother calls me to tell me about Tuesday nights, how the rain always falls at 8 pm and how the heat of the day escapes through the cracks in the sky. I tell her that I teach myself these days about desert biomes and climates.

Some say tragedy just runs in their blood.
If that’s the case, they usually aren’t so proud.
You are complex.

Even if I write of hills roaring with flames
that burn cold and birds that sing to me in greek—
I breathe the smoke— ah the smoke

i often wonder if they think the soul wanders
in la lengua instead of the heart. My ears
breathe the music of seabirds and branch beasts,
and my head creates storms to make sense of why
these songsson ajenasto me, the same way they

I had been seeing the numbers nine and eleven everywhere over the past year. Even though in numerology these numbers are lucky, but in the lives of Muslims in this country they carry a heavyweight. These numbers became the manifestation of Islamophobia after the fall of the twin towers.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

she was anesthetized from sunday to tuesday,
a six year old body in a bed, in rural Rio,
and waking up she could tell something intimate,

This work (poster) is from a set of posters that I have been making called, Recent Thoughts. This poster is two-sided, the front with cyanotype print of my I-20 and passport with a monoprint of my handprint. The back is a list of recent anti-asian hate crimes that have happened in the United States (from January to March, 2021) with a silkscreen print of Chinese dragon in the middle. The process of making this set of posters is painful as they involve personal emotions. Recently I don't think much of the purpose of making art, I just make things that are important for me. And one of the questions I have been thinking often while making this set of posters is: are things only matter when they become personal?

These images showcase her BA Jewellery Design graduate collection which were inspired by her Iranian heritage. These sound-making sculptural jewellery pieces encourage the wearer to move and create sound with them, drawing attention to their jewellery.

This was an experimental project that explores new materials within the textile design industry. My intention was to trace this back to my Vietnamese Culture by using banana leaves, as this has already been used to replace plastic in South-East Asia. I wanted to combine this methodology with my own knowledge of woven structures.
I also centred this around our brief on designing for a destination in London which was the cemetery in Tower Hamlets. My designs of the 3D forms are floating water urns, and the intention was to “give back to nature”. The leaves were also dyed in beetroot, and this was my way of investigating alternative methods of working, that could be more environmental friendly.
